Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)

scrap is either burnt as fuel, or recycled into fibrefill, carpet backing, and strapping, or chemically treated to recover component polyols and terephthalic acid.

In case of PET Strap manufacturing, when PET scrap material is used, then strength will drop and strap splitting problem will be seen. Sri Vasavi Pigments developed an additive master batch to overcome such problems and improve following properties:

a. Raises Intrinsic Viscosity (I.V.) of PET scrap material during extrusion.

b. Increase Molecular weight and improve melt strength .

c. Improved hydrolytic stability .

d. Upgrading lower molecular weight poly condensate polymers

e. Improve mechanical properties

f. Prevent splitting
